The Sickness, Disturbed’s debut studio album, was released on March 7, 2000, by Giant and Reprise Records. Although it didn’t reach number one on the US Billboard 200, it peaked at number 29 and spent a remarkable 106 weeks on the chart. Notably, it remained Disturbed’s only album to fail to top the Billboard 200 until their seventh album, Evolution, debuted at number 4 in 2018. In 2018, The Sickness was certified five times platinum by the RIAA, recognizing sales exceeding five million copies in the US, solidifying its status as the band’s most successful album.
